January Energy: Foundations and Visionary Planning

January Energy: Foundations and Visionary Planning

I blend astrology with strategic planning —not for predictions, but preparation in order to help me with my job in marketing wildlife conservation tech. In addition to January 1st, 2026, I also celebrate February 17th, 2026 (Lunar New Year) as the start of my year. This year is the Year of the Fire Horse– a rare cosmic event that occurs only once every 60 years. While 2026 has technically started for many of us, it hasn’t fully started for me. My theme for January based on the energy of the month is: Foundations and Visionary Planning. I have an urge to start sharing more with my audience as to how I use my mindset and focus my energy to follow and realize my dreams.

Something that most people don't know about me is that I really do plan my year using astrology.

Not in a "what will happen to me" way, but in a "how can I align my energy with what's already happening around and within me" way.

January brings Neptune into Aries (Jan 26), which is all about intuitive action. The Full Moon in Cancer (Jan 3) grounds my emotions, followed swiftly by a Venus Cazimi (January 6th). I read on people.com that in astrology, a cazimi occurs when a planet is in an extremely close conjunction with the Sun (typically within 17 arc minutes, though some astrologers extend it to about 1 degree), positioning it "in the heart of the Sun."

Traditionally, this is viewed as a highly fortunate and empowering alignment, where the planet's energies are purified, strengthened, and infused with solar vitality, like a rebirth or upgrade. Some (like @empressatlantis on Twitter/X) refer to cazimis as a sort of metaphorical "ego death"—a concept that comes from spiritual and psychological contexts (e.g., psychedelics or shadow work), where the planet's symbolic "ego" (or outdated identity) is burned away by the Sun's intensity, leading to liberation, clarity, and transformation. This suggests that perhaps cazimis aren't just boosts, but profound resets that strip away illusions– forcing growth through surrender. (I have been pulling the "Surrender" card from my Angel Guide Oracle Deck nonstop all year...)

Venus (my chart ruler) rules love, harmony, and self-worth, so this transit could also symbolize an "ego death" in relational dynamics—old patterns, attachments, or identities in partnerships dissolving to make way for authenticity. I know I definitely shed some skin during this time, as we’re still energetically in the Year of the Snake according to Chinese Astrology. Saturn sextile Uranus (Jan 20) will usher in structure meeting innovation. This transit is apparently the finale of a three-part series (previously occurring April 2025 and August 2025) marking opportunities for stable, disciplined innovation, where old structures (Saturn-ruled) support new ideas (Uranus-ruled), potentially unlocking career doors or implementing significant life changes that feel both earned and revolutionary, bridging tradition with progress for a more evolved future. (I am self-taught and also not a professional astrologer!! I researched this on Intuitive Astrology with Molly McCord, The Cut, and Dazed Digital in addition to what I learn from Pam Gregory’s  immensely helpful uploads on YouTube. I’ll write a little about some of my favs from Twitter/X as well if you guys are interested!)

As a Marketing Director currently working in conservation technology, I use these transits to plan our conservation tech campaigns, map out content strategies, and even figure out when to launch my new projects!! Before I started keeping track, I was somehow naturally on time for cosmic events by simply following "the vibes" and my intuition. I only very recently began to understand how to translate, optimize, protect, and work with my energy, and I am SO grateful that I seem to have figured out a system that works for me and what I like to do. I'm so pleased with it that I'm writing this to share with other creatives like me! This ancient practice of tracking celestial bodies runs in my DNA thanks to my ancestors, so it's super interesting (and fun!!) for me to observe the way this ancient system aids me in navigating the modern world.

This month I am:

Creating a vision board that blends ancient healing with sustainable design

Mapping work projects around planetary timing

Journaling my truths for future storytelling

Prepping for my upcoming wildlife expedition to Costa Rica with meditation practices

Once Saturn enters Aries on February 13th, the next 2.5 years will be about patient leadership and disciplined innovation; Two very important themes in my life as someone who is consciously working to envision and create a better future for humanity.

Here's why this matters for my work:

Saturn teaches structure. Aries demands action. Together? Their energy can aid in building something revolutionary—slowly, strategically, sustainably.

I'm hosting my very first Natural Intelligence Sleepover this summer at a 150-acre ranch, and this transit is exactly what we need. Bold vision (Aries) meets long-term planning (Saturn) which sits in my Taurus 10H next to my sun in my birth chart. :)

I'm also really looking forward to the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (Feb 17) which is ushering in energy for community breakthroughs. (Perfect timing for announcing partnerships and pitching for grant funding!!! YAY!!!)

I get a lot of DMs across my socials of people asking how I turned my passions into a career that doesn't feel like work. The answer? I stopped forcing against the current and started flowing with it.

Astrology isn't about predictions. It's about preparation.

What if you could anticipate when to push hard, when to rest, when to launch, when to reflect—not based on arbitrary calendar dates, but on actual energetic cycles?

That's the power of intentional timing.

Join my community and follow along on my journey if you're curious about my approach to intentional living and energetic optimization throughout 2026! I'm planning on sharing a lot more this year!
